Best Postpaid Data for Smartphone

Best Postpaid Data for Smartphone

According to the feedback on my previous post ‘Best Postpaid All in One Plan for Smartphone‘, many users now seems using more than 2GB data and rarely make a call,  the comparison chart seems did not suit their requirement. Therefore today I’ve prepared another comparison chart that focus in data for smartphone. 😉

Best Postpaid Data for Smartphone

Let’s start from moderate data usage. Why not light data first? Refer my previous post, which is based on light data. 🙂

Moderate Data Usage

First I’ll compare those 2GB plans, among them, DiGi offers the best value, which cost RM 45 for first 12 months and 100 minutes call and 200+100 SMS. While Maxis and U Mobile price tag RM 50, and Maxis did not bundle any call and sms. Unless you makes a lots of calls to U Mobile’s friends, otherwise in this category I would recommend DiGi SmartPlan 50.

For 3 GB plans, DiGi SmartPlan 78 is the first plan I dropped, because it restrict 1 GB into Apps usage. 2 GB mobile internet data can be used for apps, but apps quota can’t be used for mobile internet data, such as YouTube, email, apps download, and so on. Although DiGi mention unlimited surfing via Opera, but my experience told me that, it’s still throttled.

Compare Celcom and U Mobile, I would stick to Celcom, due to its RM 12 cheaper. Although you can add RM 15 in Maxis and make it 3 GB, but Maxis (RM 65) cannot compete with Celcom (RM 68), as Celcom offer 60 minutes call and 60 sms to all networks. If you do auto billing via credit card, you get another 5% off your bill.

Compare the heavy usage data plans from 3 telcos, I would not consider any DiGi packages, if you wonder why, you can refer to my previous post as this article we focus on best value for data. Besides that, restrict the data usage to apps is a pain for those who loves YouTubes a lots.

So I just compare Celcom and Maxis, I’ll go Maxis, why? RM 13 different in pricing, but I can just add-on RM 12 for 120 minutes call in Maxis seems to be  more attractive than Celcom. Besides than that, both add-on 1 GB data also the same cost – RM 15.
